CHARRO COLLECTION

This collection is inspired by the artistry of the cinto piteado — a traditional Mexican craft where designs are hand-embroidered onto leather using pita, a strong natural fiber from the agave plant Aechmea magdalenae.

Long before piteado emerged, ancient Mesoamerican civilizations like the Maya used pita to make ropes, nets, and textiles, creating a foundation of fiber traditions that later merged with Spanish leatherworking to form the craft we know today. Rooted in regions like Jalisco and Zacatecas — with Colotlán, Jalisco celebrated as the “world capital of piteado” — this technique became inseparable from charro culture. Charros, Mexico’s skilled horsemen, shaped a style that evolved from colonial ranch life into a national symbol in the 1800s, rising again during the Revolution and spreading worldwide through mariachi and cinema. Traditionally adorned with floral and animal designs, piteado embroidery represents pride, skill, and identity. This design reimagines that legacy for modern streetwear, featuring ranch animals — the rooster, bull, and goat — as emblems of strength, heritage, and freedom.
